“While driving 65 mph on a state highway driver information center displayed : " power steering failure, drive vehicle with caution ". changed lanes as an initial test and confirmed power steering was unavailable. Unknown cause for power steering loss. Despite greater difficulty making turns safely drove vehicle to its pre-trouble expected destination, parked & shutdown engine. 30 minutes later re-started vehicle. The contact stated that while driving approximately 70 mph to switch lanes to the right lane, another driver in the left lane crashed into the contacts vehicle. None of the air bags deployed. The driver sustained head injury, left side body pains, problems walking, a neurologist assessment. The front passenger sustained head injury and the rear passenger sustained head, neck back pains as all 3 received further medical treatment. A police report was filed.
