Second General Motors Brake Booster Class Action Filed Regarding Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe and Others

Valero Law has noted this specific issue before here and here , another GM brake booster lawsuit has been filed and alleges that the following vehicles are prone to a sudden loss of vacuum in the boosters that cause the brake pedals to become too hard to depress. Those vehicles are:

  • 2015 to present Cadillac Escalade

  • 2014 to present Chevrolet Silverado

  • 2015 to present Chevrolet Suburban

  • 2015 to present Chevrolet Tahoe

  • 2014 to present GMC Sierra

  • 2015 to present GMC Yukon/Yukon XL

The class action complaint alleges that the brake booster tends to fail, which causes a ‘spongy’ type feeling when depressing the brake pedal. Additionally, since most the time there are brake issues with a vehicle, the dealership will often replaced the brake pads and rotors (rather than the brake booster), it makes this particular defect hard to diagnose and repair.

The GM brake booster lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Western Division: Quitno, et al., v. General Motors, LLC.

GM issued a series of service bulletins to dealers regarding the brake problems.
