GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado Transmission Problems and Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's)

A LOT of owners of 2018-2019 GMC Canyons and 2018-2019 Chevrolet Colorado’s have noticed problematic issues with their vehicles, namely:

  1. Abnormal shaking and shifting around 35 MPH

  2. Shuddering and stuttering while shifting

  3. Premature replacement of the torque converter

  4. Driving conditions similar to driving over speed bumps

  5. Premature replacement of the transmission / engine

Because of those consumer complaints, GM has released no fewer than four different Technical Service Bulletins to repair the issue. They are:

And these are only a small few of the TSB’s issued for the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Overall, these vehicles are plagued by engine and transmission problems that impact its performance and lead to wear and premature failure.

Since the transmission is so sluggish, and the truck has a delay upon accelerating, this could be related to a defective torque converter, low transmission fluid, an internal transmission system failure, or contaminated transmission fluid from internal wear.
