Nissan issues extended warranty for certain Altima, Sentra and Versa vehicles

After probably the sixth class action filed against Nissan regarding their CVT transmissions, a new CVT extended warranty was announced.

Nissan claimed it wanted to reach a settlement to put an end to the costly and "burdensome" litigation, even though it contested all the claims made in the CVT class action.

The Nissan transmission complaint claimed the cars' acceleration issues, loud clunking noises, and jerking and shuddering motions.

The Nissan CVT class action claims that the transmission coolers are inadequate to control the temperature of the transmission fluid, which leads to CVT overheating.

The prior CVT class actions have been discussed here, here, here and here.

It should also be noted that if you DID NOT opt out of the Martinez class action, you should get the extended warranty. However, if you did opt out, you’re probably not entitled to the extended warranty.
